Project Flourish - Proposal Summary

In the coming weeks, our plans for Project Flourish will be decided by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Planning Committee.

Before that happens, we’re delighted to share with you our new ‘Proposal Summary’ booklet, which we’ve put together to help explain the many benefits the plans could deliver for the local area, including:

  • Much-needed new homes, including at least 500 new affordable homes – helping the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea meet its housing targets

  • A brand new, modern Sainsbury’s store, with café and of all of their award-winning food and non-food products

  • A new high street with local shops and places to work and visit

  • Attractive public areas and landscaped green spaces, including new parks, play areas and a restored canal basin

  • An enhanced, safer road junction at Ladbroke Grove, as well as new and improved bus stops

  • Better site-wide connectivity, including new footpaths and cycle routes

  • A new community hub for everyone to enjoy, with spaces for new businesses, charities, and community groups to flourish.

The booklet also includes some background on the site, the rationale behind our proposals and an overview of our public consultation with the local community, which we have been doing since 2021.

You can read our ‘Proposal Summary’ below:

We hope you find the new booklet helpful. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to arrange a meeting with the team, please feel free to email info@projectflourish.co.uk or call 0800 772 0475 (no charge phone line) and our Community Relations Team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Before you go…do you support Project Flourish?

We know there is great support in the local community for what we are trying to achieve with Project Flourish. However, if you support our plans but haven’t already voiced your opinion, it’s really important that you tell the Council know how you feel. Your voice matters and every supporter needs to stand up and be counted. To have your say, you can:

We hope you share our view that this development will bring the Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area back to life and deliver a number of significant benefits for the local community.
