Another great year of partnership with the London Sports Trust

Project Flourish is proud to be able to work with a number of amazing Kensal-based charities and organisations.

Since day one, we have supported the London Sports Trust on lots of different events and initiatives. The Trust’s main aims are to “inspire positive change for disadvantaged young Londoners…and their families…through the power of sport, training and life skills”.

We recently celebrated another productive year of partnership by supporting the Trust’s Canalside Community Day. This year’s event, which took place on Thursday 24th April 2025, saw more than 250 local families come together for a fun-filled afternoon of free kayaking, games, a climbing wall and BBQ.

Over the past 12 months, we have also supported the Trust to put on:

  • Free kayaking lessons along the canal for local youngsters

  • A free popular football sessions at Hazlewood Estate for children between 8 and 16

  • Training qualifications for local young people in sports and physical activity

  • Life skills courses and events preparing young people for independent

  • The Greener Canalside initiative, in partnership with Urbanwise London, to help improve the Paddington Arm of the canal

  • Support for the London Youth Games RBKC team for hundreds of children in the borough.

Ulick Tarabanov, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “Project Flourish and Ballymore have supported our work with local families in North Kensington and the surrounding areas and have been wonderful partners in helping our charity achieve its aims. They have provided funding and equipment when we have had shortfalls on programmes and their staff have volunteered on projects throughout the last two years.”

We’re really pleased with the work we’ve done so far working with the London Sports Trust and are already looking forward to another productive year of collaboration and support.

Before you go…do you support Project Flourish?

We know there is great support in the local community for what we are trying to achieve with Project Flourish. However, if you support our plans but haven’t already voiced your opinion, it’s really important that you tell the Council know how you feel. Your voice matters and every supporter needs to stand up and be counted. To have your say, you can:

We hope you share our view that this development will bring the Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area back to life and deliver a number of significant benefits.

Thanks!
